The return of the MACK (well maybe)
« on: December 05, 2016, 01:21:31 AM »
Hi guys, how's it going.

I was in Iceland last week and saw the Eve monument and it started to make me think about the good times I had with EFRON over the years. The names of friends I'd never met came back to me (yd, kev, mos, mistersparky, krennon, bel etc, etc). I never really meant to stop playing, just logged in less and less until one day I didn't log in again. It all got to be too much like work (ORCA shudders) and I needed to go out and get a real life. I do regret not saying my goodbyes...

Anyhow, I did get the real life - got married (2 years ago now), can honestly say I've never been happier.

I resubbed when I got back home today to see what had been going on in Eve and to see if the old interest would come back again. So I might be around for a bit and do hope to bump into you on my old stomping grounds, if I can remember where they were :)

When gaming becomes like work it just isn't enjoyable anymore.
I've really taken a lot of time away from gaming in general for much the same reason but I still get in a little time each week.

Congrats on the marriage and doing the real life stuff. :)
Space ships are cool.

Well hello The Mack.

I had myself wondered just where you went, but you were one of many back then. I too semi retired, just changed directions. I have resubbed myself, doing mostly industry for the corp, but that in turn means I dont have to sub. I have been on to play a few times, and Im sure I will do soon again.

Welcome back (Maybe)

And grats on the marriage :-D

We're still lurking about.

As you mention, life takes over then it's more and more difficult to get back into Eve and the ongoing changes etc etc....
Weddings and kids (Congrats BTW) as well as holding down something like a normal job and suddenly theres not enough hours left in the week, especially going roaming, or getting horribly stuck in WH space.

Although if Yd is paying his industry invoices, and the recent addition of a Steam Link, might pop back myself, even just for the holiday givaways (they still do those, right?)

Much the same here, I'm currently about to pull the trigger on a new PC.  Will be returning to Eve at some point this month so hoping to get back involved with industry stuff after I re-learn everything I've forgotten...been mostly keeping up with changes on Facebook and the eve-o forums.

Also just got engaged, and she's given me the green light to play internet spaceships again \o/

See you guys soon!

Congrats Aarg.

I've been just getting to grips with the look of things now and what's changed. It is amazing what you forget that was once second nature.

I doubt I'm any less easy to explode after the break.

Figured I'd hang around on Sinq for a bit.
Less frustrating with the inevitable, "wait, WTF did they start doing *insert change here?"

Timely intervention from XKCD

How about enemies? Acquaintances? Guys who sometimes asked you on chat? Come on, I deserve to be somewhere!

congrats on getting hitched
